Starting clinical social work practice can often manifest challenging, complex emotions and feelings about our abilities as a helping professional. Many of us begin our clinical social work practice in environments where we may have little or no prior experience; this can expose us to new yet challenging learning experiences. This often leads many new social workers to ask, “Can I do this?” As your supervisor, I am here to support you and ensure you have the supervision and guidance needed to become a competent social worker providing high-quality services to clients. At the closure of your supervision experience, you will proudly say – “I can do this!”
